Channel 4's new logo

The creative team 4Creative and the agency DBLG have decided to change the look of the logo by making it more creative. The classic logo had remained for more than a decade so they felt as though people were getting bored of the look of it. They designed it by starting with the original 4 logo then breaking it into nine blocks and the nine blocks symbolise how diverse 4 is, by the different shapes and sizes of the blocks.

Google+ and Youtube are splitting up

Plus
Google + and YouTube have decided to go their separate ways. Google+ was created in late 2011 to give users a profile and the chance to past pictures, comment and socialise with other people, so in other words it was another Facebook. When it was clear that it was not getting as much attention and users as they thought it would, Google changed the set up and decided to make everyone get a Google+ account in order to comment and share videos on YouTube. Not many people were happy about this as they claimed that it actually made YouTube harder to use because it made everything more complicated. So YouTube users are very happy that Google have decided to drop Google+.

Iphone 6 battery life

Fans of the IPhone have recently started complaining to Apple that it seems like as the IPhones keep getting upgraded, it seems like the battery life is getting worse, however it appears as though some people that have this phone say the battery life is great and some say its very bad, which is strange considering that it is the same phone. Well, a well-known you tuber called Austin Evans decided to put it to the test and find out what exactly the problem is, and he found out that not all the models are the same. The phone can either contain a TSMC chip or a Samsung chip and he found out that the battery life for the TSMC chip lasts a whole fifty minutes longer that the IPhones that have the Samsung chip. He even found an app called Lirum that can let IPhone 6 users know what chip they have in their phone.

Back to the future day..

Pepsi Perfect Bottle

To celebrate "Back to the future" day, Pepsi decided to capitalise on this and create a limited "Pepsi perfect" bottle to celebrate the creation of the movie. This was hugely successful since this movie has so many fans and it was a huge hit when it first came out.
What was so interesting is that most of the inventions that were shown in  Back to the future years ago actually ended up being invented, this includes 3D movies and fingerprint technology.

Apple and the rock band U2

A lot of people were not happy when they were going through their music and they saw that a U2 album had been downloaded and couldn't be deleted. As part of Apple's big product event they decided to promote the U2 album by downloading it onto peoples IPhone's. This launched so many twitter complains as people were not happy with the fact that music they didn't like had been placed on their music library. And what makes it worse is the fact that it cant be deleted and a lot of people were angry with the fact that Apple had done it in a way where it couldn't be deleted and even if you had the "no automatic downloads" option, it would still download the album onto your iTunes library, of course this was great for people that are actually fans of U2, but many other people were not happy at all.

Photo bought for $2 could be worth millions now

Randy Guijarro , an ordinary guy who deals with coins and collectibles went to a junk shop in California and paid $2 for a bunch of random objects that he found interesting. Years later he found out that in the box of objects it contained rare photograph of infamous outlaw Billy the kid who lived during the mid 1800's.

A company who deals with historical artefacts have claimed that once it is put up for sale, it is likely to generate millions of dollars. What makes this picture so valuable is the fact that it is the 2nd picture to every be found of Billy the Kid. People who deal with these types of cases spent a year on this picture investigating its authenticity by carefully looking at the picture and analysing everything, and they finally recently made their decision that this picture is indeed a real picture of Billy the Kid.

Why the Mcflurry spoon looks the way it does

A lot of people online have been wondering why the McDonalds spoon for their famous ice-cream "Mcflurry" looks the way it does. It doesn't look like an ordinary spoon because it is thick and  it hasa deep hole in the middle which really confused a lot of people. View image on TwitterView image on Twitter

So an employee from mcdonalds has finally explained on social media that they fill the cup with ice-cream, put the oreos on top, put the spoon in, and place the whole thing in a machine that uses the spoon to stir the icecream, and she actually posted a video that shows how it's done:

Engineer builds Thor Hammer

mjolnir.jpg

In the Marvel comics superhero Thor's hammer is well known to only be able to be lifted by him or anyone regarded as being worthy, well engineer Allen Pan decided to replicate this hammer by creating his own in a very clever way. He did this by putting certain magnets in the hammer that reacted to only the fingerprint sensor on his finger, so when anyone else tries to lift it, the hammer becomes way too heavy. Allen Pan decided to take his hammer invention to California where he tested it on anyone that was walking in the  streets, people thought this was a huge prank and they were so puzzled as to how only he could manage to lift it.

They were asked about what their aims were as an organisation and they replied “We have several goals: helping people affected by homelessness to be empowered, not only through photography and art, but through connecting with the public,” Cafe Art said.
“The calendar also has a goal of telling stories from individuals who are affected by homelessness, thereby raising awareness in the general public about issues from a personal perspective.
“All the money raised goes back into the project, either to pay for the printing of the photographs and calendar, rewarding the winning photographers, buying art materials for art groups affected by homelessness or helping individuals attend art courses. Art is seen as a major way for people to recover from the trauma of being homeless.”

Kylie Jenner's lips

We have all seen the unbelievable transformation of the Kardashian's little sister Kylie Jenner in such a short space of time. When she turned 17 the media started to notice the changes on her face and body, particularly her lips because they seemed to get fuller. Her mother received so much backlash as people claimed that she was encouraging her daughter to have surgery, however Kylie tweeted that her lips becoming full was because of the makeup she was using, no one believed her. When she turned 18 she had become almost unrecognizable and now many girls started a social media trend called the Kylie Jenner challenge, where they take a glass, and push it against their lips until they become swollen, in the hope of having lips like Kylie. She became tired of the amount of negative attention she was receiving, so she finally admitted that she had a lip fillers inserted to enhance her lips.

Iphone Vs Android

There is an on-going war between  IPhone and Android, IPhone users claim that IPhone's are way more advanced and modern than Androids (Which is true) and Android users claim that the Android is more practical and easier to use. From my research I have found that all the Androids and IPhone's equally have negative and positive things about them, but I feel as though the IPhone are quicker at expanding their features and improving the quality of their phones.
Here are some of the comparisons of the features of Androids and the IPhone.

The evolution of the Iphone

The IPhone, co-founded by Steve Jobs and Scott Forstall continues to contribute to the growth of technology due to the constant improvements being made to the device, as every year a new IPhone is released with better features and better camera quality. Apple has recently released a trailer for the new IPhone 7 which features a matrix of high-density pixels and an anti-scratch screen. I believe that the IPhone 7 will not be as popular and generate as much profit due to the fact that there is no front camera, so "how will I take my selfies?" do you ask? Well, in order to do that you would need to use the back camera meaning you will not be able to see yourself as you capture your selfies, but Apple has claimed that the camera quality is of good standard, so a front facing camera may not be necessary.

Viral dance "Whip & Nae Nae" becomes a worldwide success

The dance everyone is talking about, the "Whip & Nae Nae" has become a hit amongst children as well as celebrities, because of its catchiness and simple dance routine. Its hard to believe that this chart topping song is from a 17 year old boy who posted a 15 second Instagram video in school singing the song whilst his friend was producing the sounds with nothing but his hand hitting the table. As soon as he posted it, he became an internet sensation and therefore decided to approach a producer who agreed to make a song out of it. Personally the thought of the dance could pay off in his favour because of the attention it's pulling by children the ages from 4-14year olds.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjW8wmF5VWc

The return of fashion inspired from the 80s-90's: Oversized Tshirts

The fashion trend of wearing an oversized t-shirt is nothing new. During the 80's and 90's this became something that was often worn by celebrities such as Kanye West, Ice Cube and Rapper Eminem. This style has been revived by new artists such as: Rae Sremmurd, Young Thug and Lady Leshur. This fashion trend, has become widespread due to its urban appearance thus attracting young people.

New advert by the NSPCC

The Leo Burnett London Agency have recently released a very emotional advert for the NSPCC. This advert has been a success because it stands out amongst the other NSPCC adverts. Titled "Alfie the astronaut" it portrays a young boy who narrates his own story as an astronaut, telling the audience about his hopes of flying to the moon. During the creation of this advert, a lot of research about child abuse took place and the researchers found that when a child is abused, their imagination becomes limited and they no longer express their hopes and dreams for the future as the emotional distress from the abuse causes them to become withdrawn, and unhopeful. So the message in the advert was that the NSPCC can help children like Alfie to recover from abuse. Personally, I believe that this advert was very good because it advertised a sensitive issue in a very creative and smart way to capture viewers, also children who are being abused may view this advert and realise that there is hope for them to become what they aspire to be, with the help of the NSPCC.
