New advert by the NSPCC

The Leo Burnett London Agency have recently released a very emotional advert for the NSPCC. This advert has been a success because it stands out amongst the other NSPCC adverts. Titled "Alfie the astronaut" it portrays a young boy who narrates his own story as an astronaut, telling the audience about his hopes of flying to the moon. During the creation of this advert, a lot of research about child abuse took place and the researchers found that when a child is abused, their imagination becomes limited and they no longer express their hopes and dreams for the future as the emotional distress from the abuse causes them to become withdrawn, and unhopeful. So the message in the advert was that the NSPCC can help children like Alfie to recover from abuse. Personally, I believe that this advert was very good because it advertised a sensitive issue in a very creative and smart way to capture viewers, also children who are being abused may view this advert and realise that there is hope for them to become what they aspire to be, with the help of the NSPCC.
